Surgeons test new technique to stop debilitating swelling after breast cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06989099
Summary
This study is testing whether rebuilding the body's lymph drainage system right after lymph node removal for breast cancer can prevent a painful, chronic swelling condition called lymphedema. It will follow 50 women for two years to see if this immediate surgical repair keeps their arms from swelling. The goal is to find a way to stop this common and life-altering side effect before it starts.
