Scientists dig into lymphedema's genetic roots to find future treatments
NCT ID NCT05629026
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at the genes active in the swollen limbs of people with lymphedema, both inherited and after cancer treatment. By comparing gene activity in healthy and affected tissue, researchers hope to understand what causes the fluid buildup. The goal is to find new targets for treatments, not to test a therapy itself. About 60 adults in France will provide tissue samples for analysis.
