New surgery aims to stop swelling before it starts in melanoma patients

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a procedure called lymphatic reconstruction, done at the same time as lymph node removal for melanoma, can prevent lymphedema (chronic swelling). The study will enroll 20 adults with melanoma who need lymph node surgery. The main goal is to see if the procedure is safe and to gather early data on its effectiveness.
