New surgery aims to stop debilitating swelling before it starts in breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05366699

Summary

This study is testing if a surgical procedure called LYMPHA, done during lymph node removal for breast cancer, can prevent lymphedema—a chronic, painful swelling of the arm. Researchers will compare outcomes in 80 patients to see if the procedure reduces swelling risk and improves quality of life. The goal is to stop this debilitating side effect before it develops.
