First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach for people with septic shock, a life-threatening condition where the body's response to infection causes dangerous inflammation. Researchers will drain lymph fluid from a tube in the chest for up to 7 days to see if it safely reduces inflammatory substances in the blood. The trial involves 10 adults in the surgical ICU and aims to check safety and gather early data for future larger studies.
