Ultrasound may predict breathing tube success in elderly patients

NCT ID NCT05674812

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looked at 130 elderly surgery patients to see if a lung ultrasound score could predict whether they would need breathing support again after their breathing tube was removed. The goal was to find a better way to decide when it's safe to remove the tube. The study only observed patients and did not test any new treatment.
