Doctors test simple ultrasound scan to protect lungs during major cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06307704
Summary
This study is testing if using a bedside lung ultrasound during surgery can help doctors better adjust a breathing machine's pressure settings. The goal is to see if this personalized approach helps keep the lungs open and healthy in patients having robotic surgery for prostate or bladder cancer, potentially reducing breathing problems after the operation. Researchers will compare outcomes between patients who receive this ultrasound-guided adjustment and those who receive standard care.
