Simple ultrasound may predict breathing trouble in late preterm newborns
NCT ID NCT07216053
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a lung ultrasound done shortly after birth can predict which late preterm babies (born 34-36 weeks) will have breathing problems in the first two days of life. Researchers will compare three different ultrasound scoring methods to see which is most accurate. The goal is to help doctors identify at-risk infants early, especially in hospitals without advanced newborn intensive care.
