Summary

This study tests whether a simple lung ultrasound can accurately detect heart failure in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who come to the emergency room with shortness of breath. Heart failure is a common but often missed cause of worsening COPD symptoms. Researchers will measure ultrasound patterns (A-lines and B-lines) in 350 patients and compare them to standard diagnostic methods to see how well the ultrasound works.
