Heart-Lung machine debate: should all lung transplant patients get it?

NCT ID NCT06615492

Summary

This study aims to determine the best way to use a heart-lung machine (called ECMO) during lung transplant surgery. Researchers will compare using the machine for every patient versus only using it when problems arise during surgery. The goal is to see which approach helps patients spend fewer days in intensive care and have fewer complications after their transplant.
