First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether artificial intelligence could detect and measure abnormal lung sounds in people with cystic fibrosis, COPD, or pulmonary fibrosis. Researchers used an electronic stethoscope to record breathing sounds during routine checkups and analyzed them with AI. The goal was to see if this method could help doctors better monitor these lung diseases. The study was terminated early and enrolled 23 adults.
