New scan could map oxygen in scarred lungs
NCT ID NCT07493187
Summary
This study aims to see if advanced MRI scans can detect areas of low oxygen in the lungs of people with early-stage idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a serious scarring disease. Researchers will scan 50 participants to see if these oxygen maps can identify patients who might benefit from future experimental drugs. The goal is to gather knowledge to improve future treatment targeting, not to provide a direct treatment in this trial.
