Scientists track lung blood flow to predict ARDS survival

NCT ID NCT07370610

Summary

This study aims to understand if tracking how blood flows through the lungs of patients with severe ARDS can help predict their chances of survival. Researchers will use a special belt placed around the chest to take daily, non-invasive pictures of lung blood flow in 120 patients on breathing machines. The goal is to see if certain patterns of blood flow over time are linked to better or worse patient outcomes, which could one day help doctors personalize treatment.
