Could a common stomach pill help stop lungs from 'Drowning'?

NCT ID NCT05600062

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called Racecadotril, which is normally used for diarrhea, can reduce fluid leaks in a safe skin blister model. Researchers are using this model to see if the drug might help strengthen blood vessel barriers, which could be important for treating a severe lung condition called ARDS. The study involves 48 healthy volunteers to gather initial evidence before testing in patients.
