Early trial aims to supercharge radiation for lung cancer

NCT ID NCT03824327

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether adding a drug called papaverine to a precise form of radiation therapy makes the treatment more effective for patients with non-small cell lung cancer or lung tumors that have spread. The main goal is to find the safest dose of papaverine when given with radiation. Researchers will also check if special MRI scans or blood tests can predict which patients might benefit most from this combination.
