Hong kong launches major trial to screen 15,000 smokers for lung cancer
NCT ID NCT07478757
Summary
This study aims to find out if regular low-dose CT scans can help prevent deaths from lung cancer in people at high risk. It will enroll 15,000 Chinese adults in Hong Kong aged 50-79 who are current or former heavy smokers. Half will receive three scans over several years, while the other half will not, to compare lung cancer death rates between the two groups over a 10-year period.
