No-Marker tumor tracking could make lung cancer radiation safer and more precise

NCT ID NCT04310891

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new imaging method can track lung tumors during radiation without needing to implant small markers (fiducials) around the tumor. It involves 5 adults with early-stage lung cancer or limited lung metastases who are already receiving standard radiation. The goal is to see if the markerless tracking matches the marker-based method within 3 millimeters for at least 80% of the treatment time.
