New tech aims to sharpen lung cancer radiation targeting

NCT ID NCT02434809

First seen May 15, 2026 ยท Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new computer program designed to reduce blurring in CT scans used during lung cancer radiation therapy, helping doctors locate tumors more accurately. It also checks how well the program tracks small markers placed in the lungs compared to using radio signals. About 17 adults with lung cancer who are already scheduled for radiation therapy will take part. The goal is to improve treatment precision, not to cure the disease directly.
