Bacteria in lungs may hold key to better cancer care

NCT ID NCT03068663

First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at the bacteria living in the lungs, airways, and gut of 40 people with non-small cell lung cancer. Half receive surgery only, the other half also get chemotherapy. Researchers want to see how these bacteria differ and change, which could help design future studies that use probiotics to improve cancer treatment tolerance and effectiveness.
