New hope for lung cancer patients when treatment fails and cancer spreads to brain
NCT ID NCT07398599
Summary
This study is testing a more intensive treatment for people with advanced lung cancer where the disease has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord (leptomeningeal metastasis) after their previous targeted therapy stopped working. Researchers want to see if giving a higher dose of the targeted pill, combined with a chemotherapy injection directly into the spinal fluid and an IV drug that blocks blood vessel growth, can better control the cancer in the brain. They will also check if genetic markers in the spinal fluid can help predict how well patients might respond to this new approach.
