Spinal tap test could predict lung Cancer's spread to brain

NCT ID NCT06816979

Summary

This study aims to see if a spinal fluid test can predict which patients with advanced lung cancer are likely to develop brain metastases. Researchers will collect spinal fluid and blood from 40 patients with stage III or IV non-small cell lung cancer, some with and some without existing brain spread. The goal is to determine if tumor DNA found in the spinal fluid can reliably predict future brain metastases, which could lead to better monitoring and earlier intervention.
