Mind over microdose: study tests if belief alone drives LSD's effects

NCT ID NCT07061886

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how a very low dose of LSD (13 micrograms) affects mood and behavior in 48 healthy adults. Some participants will be told exactly what they are getting (LSD or placebo), while others will not know. The goal is to understand whether people's expectations—not just the drug itself—cause the effects often reported in microdosing.
