Could less blood pressure medicine save more lives in heart shock?

NCT ID NCT05168462

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether using less of the drug noradrenaline, by aiming for a lower blood pressure target (55 mmHg instead of 65 mmHg), can improve survival and reduce severe kidney failure in people with cardiogenic shock after a heart attack. About 776 adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two blood pressure targets. The main goal is to see if the lower target reduces death or the need for kidney dialysis within 30 days.
