Light therapy eases stroke muscle stiffness, improves walking
NCT ID NCT07273591
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at whether low-level laser therapy (a painless light treatment) could help people who had a stroke more than a year ago and still have tight ankle muscles. 22 people took part; some got laser plus physical therapy, others got physical therapy alone. After 3 weeks, both groups improved, but the laser group had less muscle stiffness and walked better. This suggests laser therapy might be a helpful add-on to standard rehab for stroke survivors.
