Celiac sufferers find relief by cutting certain carbs

NCT ID NCT03678935

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether reducing FODMAPs—certain carbohydrates that can cause gas and bloating—helps adults with celiac disease who still have stomach issues despite following a strict gluten-free diet. Researchers surveyed and then randomly assigned 80 participants to a low FODMAP diet for 4 weeks. The goal was to see if symptoms like pain and diarrhea improved, and if gut bacteria changed.
