Celiac sufferers find relief by cutting certain carbs

NCT ID NCT03678935

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether reducing FODMAPs—certain carbohydrates that can cause gas and bloating—can ease ongoing stomach symptoms in adults with celiac disease who already eat gluten-free. 80 participants completed a survey and a controlled diet trial. The goal was to see if a low FODMAP diet improves quality of life and gut symptoms beyond the gluten-free diet alone.
