Personalized pill dose could sharply cut breast cancer risk

NCT ID NCT06184750

Summary

This study is testing a personalized approach to using the drug tamoxifen to prevent breast cancer in premenopausal women at higher-than-average risk. Researchers want to see if starting with a low dose and increasing it only for women who don't show a good initial response on their mammogram (reduced breast density) is an effective strategy. The goal is to find the lowest effective dose to minimize side effects while still providing strong preventive benefits.
