First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a small dose of a lighter-than-spinal-fluid anesthetic, injected at the lowest spine gap, can still numb the area enough for hip or knee replacement surgery. The goal is to help patients regain feeling and movement in their legs faster after the operation. About 55 adults having elective joint replacement at Toronto Western Hospital will take part.
