Summary
This study tested whether giving a low dose of magnesium sulfate during lumbar spine surgery helps reduce pain after the operation. Sixty adults having back surgery received either magnesium or a placebo. The goal was to see if magnesium could lower pain scores and the need for stronger painkillers. Results are not yet available.
