Could a tiny dose of this pill delay prostate surgery?

NCT ID NCT04530552

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether a very low dose of apalutamide, a drug that blocks testosterone, can lower PSA levels in men with early-stage prostate cancer who are about to have their prostate removed. About 34 men will take the drug for 3-4 weeks before surgery. If PSA drops enough, it may suggest that low-dose apalutamide could help some men safely delay or avoid surgery or radiation.
