Can cheap, disposable scopes replace reusable ones for lung exams?
NCT ID NCT06596655
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests if low-cost, single-use bronchoscopes (thin tubes used to look inside the lungs) can safely replace reusable ones for routine lung procedures. About 20 adults will undergo a lung exam with the disposable scope. Doctors will rate the scope's quality, handling, and safety, and note if they need to switch to a reusable scope. The goal is to see if the cheaper option is a practical alternative.
