First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested a diet low in advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in 36 adults aged 55-65 with type 2 diabetes and coronary artery disease. After reducing AGE intake by 56%, participants saw a 30% drop in a blood marker linked to diabetes complications. The diet also increased fiber and reduced unhealthy fats, suggesting a simple dietary change may help manage diabetes and protect blood vessels.
