Could a blood pressure drug mend hearts in sickle cell disease?

Summary

This study tests whether losartan, a common blood pressure medication, can reduce or prevent scarring in the heart muscle of people with sickle cell disease. About 24 participants aged 6 and older will take losartan daily for one year. Researchers will use heart scans and exercise tests to see if the drug improves heart health.
