Scientists track Body's response after Week-Long fast

NCT ID NCT07155993

Summary

This study aims to understand what happens to the body and overall well-being during and after a long period of fasting. About 300 adults with diabetes, pre-diabetes, or who are overweight will complete a medically supervised fast of five or more days at a specialized clinic, followed by a careful return to eating. Researchers will track participants' weight, blood sugar, diet, and mood for up to three months using surveys, at-home tests, and wearable glucose monitors to learn about the short-term effects of extended fasting.
