Four years later: the lasting toll of COVID-19 ICU stays revealed
NCT ID NCT07397156
Summary
This study followed 283 Polish adults who needed intensive care and breathing machines for severe COVID-19 lung damage (ARDS). Researchers tracked their survival, quality of life, and ability to function for four years after their hospital stay. The goal was to understand the long-term health and financial burdens faced by survivors, not to test a new treatment.
