Can fighting loneliness help break addiction?
NCT ID NCT06458335
Summary
This study is testing whether directly treating feelings of loneliness can help people who are struggling with opioid addiction. It will enroll 300 adults who have both an opioid use disorder and report feeling lonely or disconnected. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of three different 6-week programs: a therapist-led loneliness therapy, a therapist-led health education course, or a self-guided health education course, to see which approach works best.
