First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a local antibiotic (tobramycin) directly into the wound during open fracture surgery, along with standard IV antibiotics, can lower the chance of infection. About 600 adults with open arm or leg fractures will take part. The goal is to see if this extra step reduces infections one year after surgery.
