This study tested a two-step approach to prevent falls in 230 adults with cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Participants first received lactulose or standard care for 12 weeks, then were re-randomized to add virtual Tai-Chi or continue current treatment for another 12 weeks. The goal was to see if this sequence reduces serious falls, confusion episodes, liver transplants, or death.
