New electrical zapper targets inoperable liver tumors

NCT ID NCT07214363

Summary

This study is testing a new, FDA-approved electrical ablation technique for patients with liver cancer who cannot have surgery, specifically when tumors are dangerously close to major blood vessels. The procedure, called irreversible electroporation (IRE), uses high-voltage electrical pulses to destroy tumor cells while aiming to spare nearby blood vessels. Researchers will enroll 20 patients to see how well this method works and how safe it is over a four-month follow-up period.
