New hope for advanced colon cancer patients: transplant study seeks best approach

NCT ID NCT06698146

Summary

This study aims to compare different approved liver transplant methods for patients whose colorectal cancer has spread to the liver and cannot be removed by standard surgery. Researchers will track 80 adult patients to see which transplant approach—using living or deceased donors, whole or partial livers, and one or two surgeries—leads to better survival, fewer complications, and smoother recovery. The goal is to identify the most effective transplant strategy to control this advanced cancer and extend patients' lives.
