Blood filter trial offers hope for critically ill liver patients
NCT ID NCT05030571
Summary
This study is testing a blood filtering system called DPMAS in patients with sudden, severe liver failure on top of existing chronic liver disease. The device aims to remove harmful toxins and inflammatory substances from the blood, which researchers hope will help control the disease and improve the body's immune response. The trial will compare this filtering treatment to standard care in 40 critically ill patients.
