Tissue test may reveal hidden cancer after liver ablation
NCT ID NCT01494324
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at tissue from liver tumors that were destroyed by ablation. The goal is to see if a special test on that tissue can tell whether the treatment fully killed the cancer or if some cancer cells remain. Standard CT scans can't always tell the difference between new cancer and healthy liver changes. The study involves 150 people with liver cancer that has spread from another part of the body.
