Better scans for zapping liver tumors: study tests new imaging method

NCT ID NCT05665322

Summary

This study aimed to see if a special type of CT scan (porto-scanner with Angio-CT) is better than a standard CT scan at guiding a heat treatment (thermoablation) for small liver tumors that have spread from colorectal cancer. The goal was to help doctors see tumor edges more clearly to ensure the heat treatment completely destroys the cancer. The trial was small and stopped early, enrolling only 7 patients before termination.
