Scientists probe hidden inflammation in common liver disease

Summary
This study aims to understand the differences in liver inflammation between two types of fatty liver disease: simple fatty liver (NAFL) and the more serious form (NASH). Researchers will collect liver cells from 60 patients already scheduled for a liver biopsy, using a fine needle technique. They'll analyze these cells with advanced lab methods to identify how inflammation differs between the two conditions and potentially find new targets for future treatments.
