New hope for spotting silent liver damage in kids with blood disorder
NCT ID NCT07153926
Summary
This study aimed to find better, non-invasive ways to check for liver scarring (fibrosis) in children with beta-thalassemia, a blood disorder that often causes iron overload. Researchers compared simple blood tests and a special scan against each other to see which was most accurate. The goal was to help doctors detect liver problems earlier without needing more invasive procedures.
