New hope for a hidden liver problem in people with HIV
NCT ID NCT07143968
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called resmetirom can safely reduce harmful fat buildup in the livers of people who have both HIV and a related fatty liver disease (MASLD). About 120 adults with well-controlled HIV and confirmed MASLD will take either the real drug or a placebo pill daily for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see if the drug lowers liver fat, measured by MRI scans before and after treatment.
