New blood filter could boost survival in liver failure patients with sepsis

Summary

This study tests a new blood-filtering method (DPCAS+LPE) for people with sudden liver failure and sepsis. About 192 adults will receive either this new treatment or standard plasma exchange. The goal is to see if the new method lowers death rates at 4 and 12 weeks and reduces inflammation.
