Scientists grow Mini-Livers to crack code of silent epidemic
NCT ID NCT06856252
Summary
This study aims to better understand how a common genetic variant contributes to the development of a serious form of fatty liver disease. Researchers will create 3D models, called 'assembloids,' from liver tissue donated by 60 participants. These lab-grown models will be used to study the disease process and test the effects of an experimental genetic treatment.
