New ultrasound technique could replace needle biopsy for liver disease

Summary
This study is testing a new way to measure liver stiffness and fat using an endoscope with ultrasound (EUS-SWE). It will compare this method to standard liver biopsy and FibroScan in 300 adults with suspected liver disease. The goal is to see if this new technique can accurately diagnose liver scarring without the need for a needle biopsy.
