Surgery plus drugs may extend life in advanced liver cancer – major trial launches

NCT ID NCT07537959

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether surgically removing the main liver tumor, followed by standard drug therapy, can help people with liver cancer that has spread to other parts of the body live longer. About 280 adults aged 18 to 75 with a removable liver tumor and at least one spot of cancer outside the liver will take part. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either surgery plus drug therapy or drug therapy alone, and researchers will track survival, cancer progression, side effects, and quality of life.
