Tiny 'Drug Test' implant placed in liver tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT07193862

Summary

This is a small, early safety study to see if a tiny implantable device can be safely placed into liver tumors that have spread from colorectal cancer. The device, placed a few days before the patient's scheduled tumor removal surgery, releases small amounts of cancer drugs directly into the tumor tissue. Researchers will remove the device with the tumor and check if the procedure is safe and if they can measure how the nearby tissue reacts to the drugs.
